Seismic Design of Structures & Connections: Indian and Global standards perspectives

Objective

The objective of this webinar is to strengthen understanding of seismic design principles for structures and the key concepts behind earthquake‑resistant design. It will cover important provisions from leading design guidelines, including IS 1893, IS 13920, IS 13935 and explain how these influence seismic design requirements.

The session will also address the seismic design demand on connections; referencing IS 1946 and IS 1893 (Part 1) and introduce global perspectives on the design of structures and their connections. Since connections both structural and non‑structural play a critical role in overall performance during earthquakes, especially in high‑seismic zones, proper design is essential.
