The workshop aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of how buildings respond to earthquakes and the strategies available to improve their safety. With the increasing seismic vulnerability of existing and new structures, the need for effective assessment and retrofitting measures has become more crucial than ever. This two-day program will cover the fundamentals of seismic behaviour of buildings, seismic assessment of reinforced concrete (RC) and masonry buildings, techniques for seismic assessment, and modern retrofitting approaches, including sustainable materials and innovative strengthening methods.
Through sessions, case studies, and interactive discussions, the workshop seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice, equipping participants with knowledge that can directly contribute to enhancing the resilience of our built environment. The program is designed for undergraduate & postgraduate students, practising structural engineers, and researchers, to help improve their knowledge and skills pertaining to seismic safety and risk reduction.
