The workshop was conducted for M.Tech and PhD students from the Department of Civil Engineering as part of an ongoing academia–industry collaboration.

The workshop covered from theoretical understanding of post-installed connections as per IS 1946 to design demonstration in PROFIS and hands on with anchors and installation tools. The purpose was to share insights with students from earthquake safety of structures to safety of connections with code compliant design along with the use of tested solution and installation using right methods.

From rigid baseplate design to considering realistic behaviour of steel plate with anchors using CBFEM method, design of connections for moderate to high seismic zones and even for strengthening and retrofitting applications, the idea was to share a comprehensive learnings with students who are the future leaders of the country.

We were also honored to have Mr Jayant Inamdar from Strudcom Consultants Pvt Ltd who delivered an insightful lecture on strengthening and retrofitting from industry perspective.
